Discussion:
Mirror replacement problem...

I've inherited a production system running OI151a9. A disk on a mirror
pool (c5t1d0) was throwing errors, so we've replaced the disk. Due to the
age of the system, we had to replace it with a newer, larger disk (2Tb vs
1.5Tb). As best as I could tell from the spec sheets I could find, both
systems should be reporting 512byte sectors.

However, when I go to attach the new disk, I keep getting the following
error message:
cannot attach c5t1d0 to c5t0d0: devices have different sector alignment.

I made sure the replacement disk was EFI formatted, and looking at the
prtvtoc output, I cannot see any reason for the error message. I also
tried creating a partition the exact same size as the existing disk (based
on prtvtoc output), and attaching that slice instead of the whole disk
(same error).

I've attached the prtvtoc output of each drive (c5t0d0 is the existing
disk, c5t1d0 is the new disk).

Any ideas?

I would say first place to check is whether this is an AF drive, i.e. 4K
that possibly presents as 512e. I don't recall seeing problems that you
describe, but if it is an AF drive, at least it hints at possible
blocksize-related problems.
